Bonfire at Slinningen

The following photos were shot at Slinningen in Ålesund during Sankthans 2009. Every year a gigantic bonfire is created that looms about 30 meters above the ground. This year the entire bonfire exploded in flames and the whole thing was over in just an hour.

The varying intensity of the flames made it tricky to get the exposure right, but I still think I got a few interesting shots. Next year I might use a faster lens and make sure the camera is set on raw format.
